Barbecue Bacon Gouda Cheeseburgers on Homemade Bagel Buns
Ingredients:
- 1 lb ground beef
- 4 bagel buns homemade or store-bought
- 4 slices of Gouda cheese
- 8 slices of bacon
- 1/4 cup barbecue sauce
- 1/4 cup mayonnaise
- 1/4 cup sliced red onion
- Lettuce leaves for garnish
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions:
Preheat your grill or stovetop griddle to medium-high heat
Divide the ground beef into 4 equal portions and shape them into burger patties
Season both sides with salt and pepper
Place the bacon slices on the grill or griddle and cook until crispy, turning occasionally
Remove and drain on paper towels
Grill the burger patties for about 3-4 minutes per side for medium-rare or longer for your desired level of doneness
During the last minute of grilling, place a slice of Gouda cheese on each patty to melt
While the burgers are cooking, split the bagel buns in half and lightly toast them on the grill
In a small bowl, mix the barbecue sauce and mayonnaise to create a sauce
To assemble the burgers, spread the barbecue mayo sauce on the bottom half of each toasted bagel bun
Place a Gouda-topped burger patty on top of the sauce, followed by 2 slices of crispy bacon, sliced red onion, and lettuce leaves
Top with the other half of the bagel bun, and secure the burger with a toothpick if needed
Serve your Barbecue Bacon Gouda Cheeseburgers on Homemade Bagel Buns hot, and enjoy
