Southwest Burgers
The cumin, chili powder, and paprika in these Southwest Burgers, along with the fresh cilantro, onion, and bell pepper, give them a lot of flavor. They make a tasty and filling meal when topped with melted pepper jack cheese and avocado, salsa, lettuce, or tomato, if you want.
Ingredients:
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1/4 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/4 cup chopped onion
- 1/4 cup chopped bell pepper
- 1/4 cup chopped cilantro
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp cumin
- 1/2 tsp chili powder
- 1/2 tsp paprika
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 4 slices pepper jack cheese
- 4 hamburger buns
- Optional toppings: avocado, salsa, lettuce, tomato
Instructions:
Chopped onion, chopped bell pepper, chopped cilantro, garlic powder, cumin, chili powder, paprika, salt, and pepper should all be mixed together in a bowl with ground beef
Mix everything together well, then form it into 4 burger patties
Set the grill or pan on medium heat to get it ready
Burgers should be cooked for 4 to 5 minutes on each side, or until they are done the way you like them
Add a slice of pepper jack cheese to the top of each burger in the last minute of cooking and let it melt
You can grill or pan-saute hamburger buns until they are lightly browned
Put a patty on each bun and top with optional ingredients like avocado, salsa, lettuce, and tomato to make a burger
Enjoy while hot
